We are thrilled to offer this Georgian 18ct yellow gold, round yellow topaz and emerald marquise shape cluster ring. Made with embellished floral motifs to the shoulders, the stones are foiled back by the gold setting which was typical technique used of the period, used here to accentuate the yellow hues of the topaz further. The emeralds are all emerald cut are well matched for the period, the three topaz gemstones are old cut with the largest being approx. 0.65ct. We are able to date the ring to circa 1815 from the faint hall marks still present, dating the the piece from the reign of George III of England.

A couple of notable historical occurrences during 1815: The Napoleonic wars ceased after 12 years with 26 years of turbulence after the French revolution of 1789 and Jane Austen had her first book 'Emma' published.
