A truly stunning foiled back pink topaz cannetille cross pendant and brooch dating from the early 19th century. The highly ornate cross dating from circa 1830 has all the elements that Regency jewellery is recognised for and sought after.

A vibrant oval mixed cut foiled pink topaz, claw set to the centre, is set with a fine bead border and further graduated foiled pink topaz to the branches of the cross. Beautiful cannetille flower heads are placed at the rays and terminals, with trefoil bead cluster decoration. The cross is attached to a twisted wire bale with a circular Swiss cut foiled pink topaz to the centre, crimp set to a bead edge collet. All gems remain foiled and in good order with dome back setting and a glazed locket verso, with brooch pin and 'C' catch to also be worn as brooch. A remarkable example of Georgian jewellery that also comes in a later, hand tooled Victorian fitted ‘horseshoe’ case.
