A spectacular Victorian 15ct yellow gold and ‘Jelly’ or water cabochon opal necklace with approx 30ct of beautifully matched opals dating from circa 1880. Set in masterfully crafted coronet settings the largest opal measures 11.6mm x 13.8mm x 4.1mm, with a further fourteen opals of decreasing size to the smallest 5.6mm x 6.9mm x 3mm. The orange jelly opals have a truly magical play of colour with electric blues, purples and greens with the highly sought after red. A wondrous antique opal necklace which is sure to be treasured and admired for generations to come.

CONDITION - Very good to excellent overall wear commensurate with age and use. The opals have small surface wear but are crazing, crack and chip free. The clasp opens and closely securely with all links in good order.
