A wonderful Victorian diamond star or otherwise known as a ‘sunburst’ brooch dating from the late 19th century comprising of approx 3ct of old mine cut diamonds. This statement brooch, measuring 42mm diameter is set in 18ct gold and fronted in silver which was typical of the period to enhance the diamonds in a white setting. It’s design is formed from a central set diamond around which a six point floral head boarder sits above a further twelve, stepped ‘rays’. There’s very little wear to the brooch, it’s in superb condition with the brooch fitting and also a hook to the reverse for suspending from a chain as a pendant.
