A stunning pair of Victorian yellow gold and silver inlay pique earrings hand crafted in circa 1880. The obelisk shaped drop earrings, beautifully inlaid with delicately designed panels of cross hatch geometric design.
These antique earrings would have been handmade during the mid-Victorian period (1860-1870) and would of required a highly skilled, specialised craftsman to produce. The production of such earrings had its origins in France and moved to England when the Huguenots escaped in the 17th Century where their craftsmanship spread. A very pretty pair of earrings and a delight to wear - the detailing is seen from all sides and no chips or cracks are present.
